I finally went to Bachtekerke! This lovely restaurant has been on my to do list since it’s opening back in april, but so far I wasn’t able to make it there. As my friend N. and I are both big fans of Game Season we decided upon a date in October when we made our reservation a few months ago.
Upon arrival I immediatly loved the warm and cozy interior. The owner and hostess welcomed us very friendly and escorted us to our table. We enjoyed some bubbels while going over the menu. You can eat both à la carte or enjoy aa fixed lunch or dinner menu at Bachtekerke. We dediced to go for the lunch formula. On weekdays Backtekerke offers a very lovely lunch, consisting of two starters and one main dish for the democratic price of € 27. The food was absolutely delcious! The main dish however was our favorite. Told you we both loved game. 😉
After lunch I wanted to check out the outdoor area. I had seen some pictures online, and curious as I am, I wanted to look around. Honestly all I can say is waauw! I was so impressed! The first terrace can also be used during fall as they have heathers and blankets to keek you warm. The second one is located at the Leie, so as you can imagine the views are spectacular! It must have been really great out there in the summertime… It also made me regret a little that I did not check out this restaurant sooner! And I’m not the only one who loves the Bachtekerke terraces’ as a couple weeks back Gault Millaut named it the ‘Most beatiful terrace of the year’!
So… if you are looking for an amazing restaurant a stone’s throw away from Ghent, Bachtekerke is the place to be! Pretty sure you will be able to find me there in Summer 2019 at some point.
