Restaurant Janine’s already opened a few months ago, but I still wasn’t able to try it out myself. My birthday seemed like the perfect occasion to do so, so I had dinner there with a couple of my girlfriends. The restaurant is located nearby Ghent Zuid, the southern part of the city centre. Inside the restaurant looks very trendy and modern, yet the atmosphere there is cozy and warm. The eye catcher of the interior is the large wine rack against the wall. The menu offers a lot a variation; tapas, salads, pastas and burgers, so there is definitely something there for everyone.
While I was opening up my birthday gifts – which were very lovely by the way, thanks sweeties – we enjoyed some delicious homemade cocktails and tapas. We tried the patatas bravas and the mussels, which was one of the suggestions of that day, both were so yummy! For the main course I had the Spicy Scampi with linguini and cherry tomatoes, which was absolutely delicious! My friends picked other mains, but the one thing we all agreed on was the fact that the food was amazing. Being the dessert lovers that we are, we had to check out the dessert menu as well. And hooray, all sweets were typical Belgian! We choose the Brussels Waffles and the Chocolate Moelleux, both equally as good! I had a wonderful birthday at Janine’s and really enjoyed the lovely cocktails, delicious food and the company of my besties. I do wanna go back though for a tapas night, so who’s in?
